This second in a series of three retreats led by master meditator and author Douglas Veenhof, combines the meditation methods of the 2,500-year-old tradition of Buddhism with research from the leading edge of neuroscience and affective psychology.
This innovative and highly effective approach was created by the Buddhist teacher Alan Wallace and psychologist Paul Ekman at the request of H.H. the Dalai Lama and is based on the premise that authentic happiness can be cultivated by eliminating specific motivational, attentional, cognitive, and emotional imbalances.
Newcomers: Don’t worry if you missed the first in our series of three retreats, there will be ample review to get you caught up. Even if you have never meditated, Doug’s clear and systematic instruction will have you relaxed and making progress from the very start.
Returning meditators: For those who attended the December retreat in Essex, this experiential weekend will give you a chance to deepen and broaden the practices you have already learned and to reveal a whole new vista of meditation experience that many of you glimpsed in the first retreat.
Following our Friday night talk, the longer days on Saturday and Sunday create the opportunity to get familiar with these transformative practices in a way not possible in the rush of everyday life… and you still get to go home at night!
