In this discussion we will look at the Buddha's recipe on how we freeze around our experiences, becoming immovable and stuck. When we can recognize those habitual patterns more clearly, we can begin to melt the freeze, opening more fully to our experiences and life. Melting and opening the heart with loving-kindness is a radical act of disarmament desperately needed in today's world, from the personal to the political. But as we practice melting, some of us may end up a watery mess of tears! And so the companion of loving-kindness -- compassion -- helps us approach life with more clarity and confidence, galvanized for action.
